Today, I undertook an exciting project! I frosted the oval window in my 1st floor powder room. I love the oval shape of the window but it's way too awkward for a curtain or blinds. So, I did what I always do....I researched options for window privacy online and frosting the window seemed like a very logical thing to do!
I liked the idea of allowing light to penetrate the room, allowing bathroom "users" (no pun intended!) to appreciate the beauty and trim of the oval shape but I wanted privacy so people walking up to the front door couldn't peek at you when you were doing your "business". You know what I mean.
Okay, here's what I did.....
#1. I taped up all of the trim around the window and used paper to cover the wider trim. (Tip: put down something to cover the floor. I had a thin layer of powder from the spray paint on the floor afterwards. It was super easy to sweep up but you may want to put down a drop cloth or towel so clean up is easier.)

#2. Open all the doors and windows for ventilation and put on a face mask. This stuff smells terrible!
#3. Start spraying! We did 4 light coats in total. I would spray a light coat then allow it to dry for about 10 minutes and then spray another coat. Don't worry if the frosting looks a little uneven when you're spraying. I found that it would even out after drying.
#4. Enjoy! See? Wasn't that super easy??!!

BTW, the can of spray paint cost about $4 at one of the big box hardware stores....the one where everyone has on orange vests. You get me! LOL! :-)
